Ohio Tax Credit Scholarships CEF-SGO
The Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati has been certified by the State of Ohio as a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO). This is great news because gifts to the CEF-SGO can be directed to St. Teresa School!
Turn your taxes into tuition to benefit St. Teresa. Ohio taxpayers who donate to an SGO may be able to claim a dollar-for-dollar non-refundable tax credit on their state income tax return for up to $750 per donor (up to $1,500 if married and filing jointly).
This is a great way to support St. Teresa School and benefit from this new Ohio Income Tax Credit:
- Gifts are made directly to the Catholic Education Foundation; however, you can designate St. Teresa of Avila School to receive all or part of your donation.
- Gifts can be made online or via check. If an online gift, you will be prompted to select St. Teresa of Avila School (Cincinnati) (C02447). Checks should be submitted with the gift form that you can download here: CEF-SGO GIFT FORM
- You will receive a thank you letter from the CEF for your records and to be used to receive your Ohio tax credit on your Ohio income taxes.
- PLEASE NOTE: According to a representative from the Ohio Department of Taxation, if you file a married joint return, each taxpayer will need to make their own $750 contribution to claim the maximum of $1,500. Separate acknowledgement letters will be provided for documentation of your gifts.
Because this provision is a tax credit and a re-direction of your taxes, we kindly ask that your gift to the CEF-SGO be in addition to your current support of St. Teresa School.
